Team Racing
GUSC has some of the top team racing squads in Scotland. This year the A team placed second in the SUSA leagues whilst the B team
finished 4th. The C team had a more... comfortable mid table finish.
This means that the A's enter for the BUSA championships, and the B's must
travel to the BUSA playoffs to attempt get a place at finals.
Team selection for next years teams will happen early in October.

About team racing:
A race consists of 2 teams, with 3 boats in each team, racing just 1 lap around
a course, usually 'S' shaped. Upwind, reach, run, reach, beat to finish. The
boat that finishes 1st gets 1 point, 2nd 2 points, 6th - 6 points etc. Add up
the 3 scores for both teams, and the team with the lowest score wins the race!
Sound easy? But, you have to make sure that your team are winning, and that
might mean all sorts of tricks like holding up the opposition to let your team
mate through, and generally lots of shouting!
